The history of Denmark´s first china factory and that of its three blue waves began in the year of 1775.
The Royal China Factory, today known as Royal Copenhagen, was founded under the patronage of the Queen Mother Juliane Marie. Several of the factory´s earliest
china sets and figurines were made for the Royal Family as gifts to other Royal Courts and the china factory was met with fame and high esteem in foreign countries. Ever since many well-known artists have taken part in maintaining the high level of fine artistic expression and skilled workmanship, which have made the name Royal Copenhagen and the trademark with the three waves known world wide.
